Apple Crumble is one of the most comforting and satisfying desserts. It is also a great way to use up a whole bunch of apples in one go before it goes to waste. Sliced bananas can also be added to the apple mixture adding both sweetness and texture.
Ingredients (serves 6)
5-6 apples, peeled, cored and diced
½ cup caster or brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
200g butter, melted
1 cup caster or brown sugar
2 cups plain or gluten-free flour
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Place the apple in sugar and cinnamon.in an ovenproof dish and toss well to combine. Bake for 20 minutes until softened.
- To make the crumble topping, mix butter, sugar and butter in a large bowl.
- Once the apple mixture is soft, top with the crumble topping and bake for 30 minutes, or until the crumble is golden.
Best served warm with a dollop of ice-cream, yogurt or custard.
